Love Football, Love The World, Love True Stories!
The Inner City World Cup is a sports day out for all the family and community. A thousand locals with the word LOVE printed onto their kit is always going to make good things happen.
2022
At Manchester's #ICWC22 (launched at Manchester City FC with Soccer Six Women's Football Ambassador, Rowetta of Happy Mondays/Shed 7 etc, CUP Soccer Six head Mark 'Abes' Abery met a player, Humz, whose team, Pakistan, won the cup that year. Humz & Abes stayed in touch with each other.
2023
June's London ICWC was drawn on a events and parties hosting boat, Bar&Co. Moored on the River Thames, not far from the London Eye, It was a regular hang out for 2022 champions, Spain, who had the CUP winners trophy there on display. (TikTok clips)

#ICWC23 London was a beautiful game day sporting sport, a variety of heritage sound systems, family picnic food aromas - congratulations, again, Spain!
The Inner City World Cup Trophy, itself was returned to it's pride of place on the Bar&Co Boat.
Meanwhile at #ICWC23 Manchester (Bellevue Stadium, July 2023) Pakistan weren't the winners this time round. The next day at the same venue was #SoccerSixFest (CUP's rock n goal tournament of a music industry social) where Humz also played after starting the the day without a team!
He joined Scruff Of The Neck and they ended the day as champions!
Humz also got to make his first live music performance at the Extra Time show after the matches.

On January 2nd, Storm Henk tore up large swathes of Britain and in London, Bar&Co was widely reported across the news when the floating bar sank.
Inside, the Tournament Cup was, sadly, under the River Thames!

LOVE is part of CUP (Creativity Uniting People) events. Maybe it made a wonderful thing happen at the end of May. By the time of the #ICWC24 draw - live streamed from London Stadium (West Ham Ground) on facebook.com/lovefootballofficial - the cup had been rescued!
London's Inner City World Cup has risen in time for the 30th anniversary of these society uniting events which take place in June (London, then Manchester).
The Beautiful Game really is, sometimes. Enjoy this Euros year.
