This year’s event is in partnership with Music Venue Trust

The increasingly legendary registered charity acts to protect, secure and improve Grassroots Music Venues. As The Musos Awards celebrates, includes and develops artists from the circuit outwards, this means so much and is a perfect fit.

“We’re very proud to be partnering with The Musos this year, we’re going to be supporting you everywhere we can… We’re doing this because we believe in music.”

Mark Davyd, Music Venue Trust

Musos Awards are The Player’s Player:

Musicians for musicians! “If you can’t play a note, you don’t get a vote.”
2026 has seen the largest involvement so far in Indie Rock n Roll’s biggest party.

2025's event was the first Musos Awards of this generation.

It sold out, with the music world attending, performing and/or supporting, from across the land. Hosted by Louise Schofield, in attendance were Peter Doherty, Rowetta, Laurie Wright, Kyle Falconer of The View, Tom A. Smith, Saul Davies of James, Lock-In and The Bands Come Out To Play winners FNTSY and 2025 finalists The Now, Harvey Jay Dodgson and Rikki Lee. A YouTube short of what goes on at the Electric Ballroom in London's Rock n Roll Capital, Camden, by Stanley Lane.

2026's event is even more of a (much needed) escapism.

Thursday 12th February celebrates the alternative arts renaissance with fresh energy and well-earned recognition for the scene’s hardest workers and brightest stars.

Artists, crews, venues, and visionaries who redefine British/Irish music culture. Watch also, the developments of Musos Awards nominees, winners and supporters. This is an expanding community. Founded in Camden’s original ‘90s Britpop heyday and reborn in 2025, The Musos Awards remain true to their roots. By 2026, doing what roots do. Extending underground.

“It’s always about authenticity, musicians celebrating musicians. Bringing  people together, whether it’s over a pint, a riff, or a penalty shootout. 2026 will take that spirit and amplify it”

“Musos Awards. Probably one of the most surreal nights ever. Where else do you get Rowetta covering Joy Division, Pete Doherty covering whatever he wanted for as long as he wanted & Saul from James. Pete also duetted with Kyle Falconer & Pete’s dog woofed at me!”

Summer #ICWC23 #SoccerSixFest Manchester update

Mark 'Abes' Abery, head of the CUP Soccer Six group of events and Ellis McArthur, manager of the Music Industry Soccer Six Fest winning Band Team, The Bracknall. A weekend for women in football and music.

Pictures and video clips from the Summer 2023
CUP Soccer Six weekend in Manchester
will continue going up at the socials for some time yet! https://linktr.ee/soccersix

Pic: Friday evening .Launched on Thursday evening at the Manchester City Etihad Stadium. ,A skeleton Soccer Six crew did everything from tournament sign ups, creating then administering the individual kits, very early morning starts setting up the goal posts and pitches, sorting out then presenting the trophies and medals, keeping the scores, refereeing the individual games, staging live music to time with games ending - or not and then taking it all down! Thank YOU everybody on side.

All the footy players and their supporters, who sparked up Belle Vue Stadium on Saturday 15th July (the #LoveFootball Inner City World Cup) and Sunday 16th July, are winners!

Much appreciation goes to the locally based dignitaries who turned up over the weekend, Including various supporters from Manchester Council, plus Yasmine Dar Mayor of Manchester, Andy Burnham - got some smart keepy-uppy moves has the Mayor of Greater Manchester! - and Angela Rayner, Deputy Leader of the Labour Party.

Sunday 16th July was the first time that the Music Industry #SoccerSixFest had taken place in this legendary Football Music City. Absolutely amazing musicians, biz, media and TV celebrities came together on the pitches, in the bar and some even performed on the stage.

ALL great live sets. Cheers Thomas and Dan for the sound and Mark Lippman for the stage.

This weekend felt like the start of something special.

In addition, the focus on up and coming guitar bands, since the event's return in 2022 is about continuing to share the promote the involved artists as their own stories unfold - just as the original CUP Soccer Six events did in the heyday of Britpop.

Now it's a very 21st century affair with a keen ear on the grassroots venue circuit that Music Venue Trust are care taking. If the industry comes together in the way that they, and the 2023 Soccer Six Fest squads did there's a strong alliance for artists.

Yes it's about football but yes it's about music - that's why the most informal entertainment biz social, CUP Soccer Six, is uniquely a rock n goal affair. See you next time?

2023 Industry/Ambassadors included all the bands/artists/celebrities + our own Rowetta, Louise Schofield, Megan Wyn, XS Manchester, Scruff Of The Neck, Fatsoma, Spill The Sound, Future Yard Film, Louder Than War Radio, Time To Shine Promotions, TheZineUK, Rocklands ArtBeat, Team CUP/Love Football and the awesome music fans who travelled to Manchester for a different kind of day out - a load of rocking bands having a kick about, a social with a bar - and a live show of talents. Amazing feedback, goooooaaaaaal!
